Emergency medicine is a medical specialty which focuses on the treatment of acute and urgent medical problems and injuries.  Anne Arundel medical center operates a full service emergency department and pediatric emergency department with a wide range of inpatient services.  DESPA is the group of practitioners who work exclusively in the emergency department.
